Eagle Project: On September 25, 1999, Jon supervised the scouts on a pilot program for the Huber Ridge Elementary School. The scouts made instruments for measuring the heights of trees and for determining the canopy cover of the woods in Ridgewood Park. On October 1st, the 5th grade students were supervised by Jon to collect data about the forest in their community. Jon then planned the details for the school to use as curriculum for the teachers, and had the scouts make lesson plans. Jon worked with Denise Mundy, who is the coordinator for the Woodswalk program in the Westerville Schools. He has earned 29 merit badges and the World Conservation Award. He is a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow. He started the Webpage for Troop 700 in 1998. |
